A:
Swivels can actaully mess up the action of a crank bait so I would suggest against it. I do not know what size fish and spinner you are going for so i cannot answer the second part of the question.

I bass fish with these and the 2 size seems to work out great. It is not too small, but not too big. Good luck fishing.

The ring is definitely welded. I would of broke off many times if it were not fighting big bass.

A:
These snaps have a solid, welded ring. No split-ring (at least on the smallest size they offer).

Black will blend in more with stained water, but I have used nickel snaps and swivels and still have gotten lots of bites on artificial lures. I think personally the flash of the nickel snaps adds some appeal to the bait.

Black has less flash. I was trout fishing with a shiny swivel once andI kept getting bits, but no fish. Half way through I relize they were not bitting the hook but the swivel. I cut it off and caught my trout. There is your advantage.
