Does this work

Details: 
on fish that have swallowed bait? IE Powerbait, salmon eggs, etc...

I do a bit of trout fishing and always catch and release.

I, too, do a lot of trout fishing and I can tell you that in my experience this product is not meant for smaller hooks. They can easily be broken.

You insert the line into the slot and slide the tool all the way down to the hook, Push down with slightly fast motion and the hook comes out.
