What is the length. This case is 53". My gun is an Ithica SKB 100 shotgun, It is much shorter than 53 inches. That's no problem for me. This is a padded case.
The overall quality is good. My concern is the width of your husband's gun with the scope on? My guess is it would fit but again my gun is a double barrel shot gun.

yes without a problem but i would be concerned about the cases ability to firmly hold the rifle and extra barrel securly in place without any of them coming in contact with each other and also about the poor performance of the latches and the thin inner padding
