A: 
No, they won't. The larger the objective lens the more light it will gather and transmit to your eye. I ordered both the Swarovski 10 x 25's and Leica 10 x 25 Ultravids and took them both outside for a side by side comparison. There was a SLIGHT edge to the Leica so I sent the others back. Couple of reasons: 1) the Swarovski's basically have a permanently attached "string"... so thin you can't really call it a strap and I knew that would not be comfortable. 2) they had no eye piece covers and the Leica's did. When it's raining you need these on there for sure. Just bought the Swarovski Swarovision 10 x 42 EL's and they are simply amazing! A huge step up in quality from my Nikon Monarchs. If weight is an issue for you buy larger binoculars and use one of the harnesses that they sell for optics. Takes all the strain off your neck. Then you'll have comfort and the ability to see at day break and dusk.

You will have to decide which is most important to your purposes, power or compactness. 8x20 is more compact, 10x25 gives you a bit more magnifying power and reach. They are both high quality and will give you a great clear image.
