A:
Not necessarily. You usually need to train your peep by holding your peep with one hand and twisting your loop with the other, untill it ligns up at full draw. You can also take to a bow shop and they can fix it for you.

I am 5' 6" and am wanting to get every extra inch out of my frame as possible to get the extra 1/2in on the pull to create more energy for the arrow.

I am 5' 7" and I use a loop. I think you will gain accuracy if you are using a release aid. It allows for a smoother release. Your arrow will leave the string more stable and square. Whatever speed you anticipate losing you will make it up in accuracy.

A:
in a half inch, you are only losing 2-3 feet per second in arrow speed. However, if the loop is tied properly, your draw length should not change more than 1/4 inch. If you are unsure if you can tie it properly take it to a Bass pro store and they will tie one on for free. the loop should only be big enough to barely fit your release on it with an arrow nocked.
