Helical is the slight twist to the vane. You can look at different arrows and you will notice some vanes are applied straight and some are applied in a slight twisting fashion. Vanes help steady the arrow in flight and the helical twist on a vane will sping the arrow faster and allow for more control.

Helical is the direction of your vanes if it is a right helical your vanes will be placed slightly on a right angle and will spin to the right and preferred for right hand bows. A left helical is the same only its placed to the left and spins left and is recommended for left hand bows but ether one can be shot out of any bow.Answers

Yes, but you need a crossbow nock adapter. I purchased one on the internet. The straight clamp can be adjusted to get the offset you are looking for. I will be reflecthing some bolots for my son's crossbow, when the local archery shop gets the new nocks and fletches in.A:

I am also a lefty. I would recommend shooting right offset instead of helical. Helical is more of a twist. Offset is a slight angle to right of center. Unless your shooting feathers for vanes, if that's the case then go helical.A:
It was once believed that the orientation of the fletching would help pull the arrow away from the riser aiding clearance, slo-mo. video shows that the spin up takes several feet to take effect so no real difference as long as all your arrows are the same.Answers

WB don't like rotation or more correctly vanes don't like rotating in WBs. The will but the drag increases on the vanes, spraying a little silicone lube on both WB and vane really helps..A:
No, you can not use helical with a wisker biscut arrow rest. You must use straight vanes.....Answers

One clamp of your preference comes with the jig, however the others can be purchased seperately. The right helical is the only one I use.

No. If you order the straight fletching jig, you can only fletch straight because it comes with a straight clamp.. You can not "adjust" the jig or the clamp to fletch left or right. If you want to fletch left or right, you would have to order the left or right clamp. I have had one of these jigs for many years. I fletch all of my arrows with the right helical jig. I shoot recurves and shoot my arrows off the shelf. This allows me to use a helical fletch.Details:

This is all the jig you will need. The instructions with it will explain some.These jigs are very durable and will last a life time Much better than the plastic jigs.. Talk to an archery bow shop and they will explain the heical fletch and straight and offset and so forth.A:
When using a whisker biscuit type rest you definitely want to go with straight fletching with an offset. Left or Right Helical seems to damage the WB after several shots.Helical resembles a boat prop which makes your arrow spin dramatically in flight. Straight is is exactly as it sounds, the fletching is straight down the shaft.
