I know know what exactly these are or what they do. I think I have an idea though. Like, I think they basically lock onto the line. So would I need a swivel if I use these? Please answer quick! BPS opens in 40 minutes and I only have 2 hours to shop!!!

No, do not use these as a terminal knot. It is used to hold a weight or a bead or slip bobber in place.

No they do not require a swivel. First place on a 3/8 oz sinker, then a glass bead, then another 3/8 oz sinker, then a glas bead. The use a set of pliers to pinch the KEEPER open. Insert your line into the KEEPER, Slide the keeper(OPEN) up to about 24" on the line. (Its a good idea to add a second KEEPER to keep the sinkers and beads from sliding down during casting) Then after you hhave the second keeper on, Tie on a 4/0 or 5/0 wide gap hook (Palomar Knot) with an 8" Zoom Magnum Lizard. Use 17 lb Flourocarbon line. Throw this rig around points and flats. Sit back and enjoy catching!!! PS-use a slow retrieval!!!!

Your correct about locking onto the line. Think of them as a sort of crimp, but having the ability to easily remove it. I use them to hold weights at a certain place on my leader or to hold beads where I need them. You can also use them as bobber stops. Swivels will still be needed...these do not stop line twist.

I don't use a swivel and they do fine. There may be a certain type of bait that would cause more line twist than others but I haven't had any problems.
