Culprit firetail

Details:
I have an old Culprit 7.5" pumpkin seed firetail. It is great on those Kansas farm ponds. However, I do not see any firetails nor the size of the offered culprit bait. Are any of these comparable to the firetail and what is their length.

The only culprit worm on this site is the 7.5'' inch model. There are tons of color combos but the solid pumpkin seed seems to work the best.

I found several Firetails and pumpkinseed is one of my favorites. You can dig around on the Bass Pro main wharehouse site and find several brands of firetails.Several lengths are available. I found that the culprit is a little soft and went with Berkely or the Bass Pro in house brand. AlfredE

A:
I always use a 2/0 hook on 6 - 7 1/2" worms although I believe a 3/0 is recommended. The 3/0 just seems to big and I don't miss any fish because of hook size, just short strikes.

A:
I personally like 4/0 or 5/0 extra wide gap worm hook. The reason I keep a big hook in that size worm is because of a good hookset, i fish for largemouth and the wider gap 4/0 or 5/0 keeps more fish on for me. But everyone doesnt fish the same so trial and error is the best way to answer you question.

#2 or #3 I guess it really depends on the size of fish you're catchin'! LoL If you hook into one that straightens out those hooks, I'll be happy to come and help you out! "we're gonna need a bigger boat" (jaws)

I prefer the 7.5 inch. It just work's well for me, But it also depends on the water and weather condition's.

The color I use is the grape with red tail. This color will catch fish no matter what.

Good luck!

Ok I live near you so I probably kinda fish the same area since im in raleigh for falls and jordan lake its probably gonna be the 6 or 7.5 red shad and it kills rig it texas style with a 2/0 hook and 3/16 oz slip sinker.dont peg the weight to the hook head and as you reel in tap your rod tip to make the weight go farther up the line and bounce the head in a crazy action that really calls out bass. on days when nothing else would bite, this combo proved dealy with a 3 and 4 1/2 pounder, the only bass that day.

if you want to catch numbers, use 7.5 inch in tequila shad or purple, thats a good color. so is the red one too. if you are ging after big fish, use the 10 inch but in a dark color like black.
