Want to get a rod that will go well with Quantum's Kinetic bait caster. I use mostly artificial bait unless live bait is called for.

hi bassman94 it all depends on the action. A medium light to a medium action rod would fit what your looking for. i also reccomend to u if u go and buy this to purchase a shakespeare baitcast reel it's very durable and good quality and very smooth casting and reeling. I also reccomend u buy cajun fishing line. it's very thin so u can go up to 5lbs past the reels suggested pound test line. so theres no need to sacrifice yards. hope i was a help and good fishing to you.

I've used these rods forever for bass, and they're great, especially the price. I'm not sure about catfish, but they work great.

it means the rod flexes (somewhat) evenly along it's entire length. I can't stress enough how much I hated using these rods. YUCK.

I am probably going to purchase an Ambassadeur C3 5500 model and some 15lb cabela's pro line. Do you think a 7' medium/heavy Ugly Stik will be good for carp up to 15lbs and channel cats up to 10lbs?
