Yes, you have to use the jig hooks designed for the mold, unless you can bend your own. If you were to see the proper hook, you would understand.

Well, I have many round head molds from Do-It and I use a minimum of a 1/0 from 1/8th up, so I would say yes.....
Just make sure to use the proper hook for the mold...The majority of round head molds from D0-it are light wire molds 570/575 style, although they do make some (pro-line) that use the heavy wire hooks.
With the light wire hook molds I like the Mustad Ultra-Point hooks, along with the Eagle Claw 570 and the Matzuo sickle hooks (best bang for the buck!) in the black nickle or bronze finishes.

THIS IS A SINGLE BARB HOOK AND THE HOOK SIZES 2/0 AND 3/0 WILL WORK.

I make quite a few jig heads for Crappie guys (myself included) and would use anywhere from a #6 through a 1/0, depending on the jig, the body and the conditions.

hubert161: I use a number one,not 1/0, bronze eagle claw.altho this may be on the small side I have had good luck with it
