A:
I am using the moel 1029 to cast the new Alabama Rig which weighs about 2-3 OZ. No problem with even more weight, the tip is soft and allows the rod to load up and release energy on the cast.

May be a BIT heavy for bass fishing (I was throwing pretty huge Muskie lures), but will definitely get you and your bass through the weeds.

I use this rod for bass all the time. It will pull them out of weeds no problem. Just make sure you use fishing line tough enough to pull the fish out too.
