I have a Rem .270 and want to mount a scope, looking for rings, but looking to keep a few bucks in my pocket, has anyone used these rings with success on anything larger than a .22?

These rings are meant for the smaller size mounting platform. They are too narrow for a big game rifle. Their mounting base is too narrow.Details:
