This product is specifically for teble hooks so that other types of hooks are not suitable.

what are these made out of?

Details: 
I'm asking b/c I also do salt water fishing in addition to fresh water and I was curious if the salt would affect the performance.

These are made of a soft plastic material and hooksets should not be a problem. Saltwater should not affect this product any more than freshwater but don't quote me on that!

there made of a pretty hard rubber and u should have no problem using them in a slat water situation i would just dry the hooks well before putting them on bc they will hold water inside of them and will rust the hooks fast

The material is a soft plastic similar to plastic worms. Salt should not be a problem. Toothy fish may be a problem,however.
