Are these waterproof?

Details: 
i would love to use them for snowboarding and skiing but if they are not waterproof to a certain extent i can not. any help would be lovely

No, they're not waterproof. I snowboard as much as I can in the Winter... do yourself a favor ... and go to your local ski shop and buy some waterproof bibs or pants.

I'm 5'3" as well! These are a little long with regular shoes but they are perfect with my boots. They don't hang over my boots at all.

I am 5'7" and they were just right for me so yes you will have to hem them.

the pants do run longer - i am 5'5 and i still had to roll them up once - however, i wear snake boots hunting so the legs were great!

I'm 5'3 also. They are too long but they have a drawstring at the end. I tied them around my ankle and stuff the access fabric in my boot.
