2 ways:The most common is tu cut about 6mm of tubing and insert the eye of the hook inside. Afterwards, pass the eye of the hook on your main hook. This will maintain the trailer hook in a firm position.
The other way is to insert the eye of the trailer hook in the main hook and then put place the tubing across the main hook (but not by the hole, but perpendicular) this will let you have a loose trailer hook but I would recommend tubing with less diameter.

The "textbook" method of rigging is to cut a small piece of tubing, and push the tubing width-wise onto the main hook after putting the trailer on. The only way to make the small tubing work is to thread it on over the hook point. This works adequately, but the tubing is still brittle and of low quality.Answers

Yes the trailers can be used on other lures...just match up the hook side to the lure and it will work fine.

You can use them on single hook baits, like jigs or buzz baits. The only problem might be the "snag-ability" factor would increase.A:
They could be used on other lures, but you wouldn't achieve to much. Say if you used one on a jig, it really wouldn't be very weedless considering it doesn't have a weedguard like the actual jig does. And also for example if you used one on a crankbait, it might effect the correct action of the bait and it already has two trebble hooks on it so your hook-up ratio is pretty high anyway. There is one advantage to using this hook which is on buzzbaits which seems to be highly effective.1 of 1
