It is plenty thick for bucktails, spoons and jigs. not paper thin. this model is the best all around pork trailer imo

The strip is not paper thin. I do not know what the thickness is, but if you put the hook thru the slits that are cut by the factory, you cannot tear the rind off. It is almost as strong as a piece of leather. Somehow, the fish will knock the rind off the hook, but i have got a lot of use out of a jar of rind, just don't let it dry out or it is junk. The jar just need some water with salt in it to keep them fresh.A:
I use these all the time...and they are not "paper thin" . They are very durable and work great as a trailer for a jig...as in jig and pig..I normally cut the strip in half ...giving me two "tails".
