My go-to's are silver and gold in a 2. Landed a 28" LL this year on a size 2, but they would most likely hit a 3 if you're fishing in bigger water. Enjoy!
This is definitely a good choice. Get it in size #2, even the little 5 inchers will take it, and the whopper 20 inchers will love it! Get it in blue and purple
I'd start out with gold. It works good for me, but I'd also have a bunch of other colores in your tackle box. Sometimes bass just perfer a specific color or a specific color just seems to work well in one pond or lake over all others. Take for instence a farm pond in Missouri that I fish... the bass love pink??? I don't know why, but I tried it and found this color to be the best... so don't get stuck on one color and try figure out which one works the best for the H2O you fish.
work great for Bass, if using for panfish, use a smaller blade, #0 or #1. i se the silver and gold and have great luck. I have caught 9lb bass with these spinners
They are very good for panfish and bass, so I have found. I have used the #1, #2, and #3 spinners in all colors. If i had to buy just one, it would be the #2 in silver. That seems to catch the most fish for me. As soon as the lure hits the water, give it a quick jerk, this will get the spinner going, then just slow down and wait for the bite. The only downside is the trebble hook, you will tend to loose a few when fishing structure.
yes they r excellent for Pan fish and Bass size 7/64 OZ is best for Pan fish and small trout and 1/4 OZ and 3/8 OZ r good for bass, for clear water gold is best when it's overcast and silver is for sunny day and for stained water firetiger and chrome blue r good colors.
It can be trolled, or cast and retrieved. I use a small pink or red trailer. A little grub I attach right on the treble hook. When casting from shore it usually gets hit when you pause it for a second on the retrieve.

the best way to use them is tie them directly to the line. retrieve them slow enough to keep the blade spinning. you can also retrieve them at medium speed depending on the temp. as the water gets warmer the fish are more active and will chase the lure. when the temps are low you will need to retieve the lure slower to get the fish to catch up to it.
If you are fishing for trout, read the book "Spinner Fishing for Trout" published by Stackpole Books. It describes the most effective method for using spinners for trout on streams and rivers.
med. to fast retrive like you would with a spinner bait. Speed depends on water temp. and how reactive the fish are. Color depends on how clear the water is
Cast it out and slow roll it back to you. Try not to use it in too shallow areas!

If you are river fishing, you need to cast slightly up river and let the spinner go down and then start retrieving as the spinner is going down river. Also if you are catching and releasing you change from a trible hook to a single siwash hook that is supplied with a #3 or larger spinner.
The best way to use this spinner is cast out, when the lure is at water ever depth you want it pull the lure through the water and reel the slack leave a pase before you reel because this is when the fish will strike!
A #5 is significantly bigger than a #2. Size 0 is the smallest and is typically used for small native trout and tiny streams. Size one is most common on small to average streams. Size 2 is best for larger streams and rivers. Sizes 3 and up are typically used for very large fish and are used in deeper rivers and lakes.
