A:
Colors of any bait depend on many factors. First, the water clarity. The cloud coverage (a sunny day vs. a overcast). The native creatures that inhabit those waters. So, in essence, it takes a little time to figure colors out. For the most part, a darker color works best a good percentage of the time. If it's sunny, the bass thinks it's a shadow and not the bait. I hope this helps you. Watch the Bass Pros show. Believe it or not, there's a ton of information and they usually touch down on this subject once per year.

Scum Frogs do indeed float. I do have one that doesn't float very long but that's because it's really worn out from catching so many bass. Plus you can't beat the price and color selection.

yes! drag it over the pads and let it sit a sec in an opening, but sometimes the bass will eat it before it even gets the time to rest. it is just a great lure to use

Yes it floats well. Stop it and it will drift as it sits high in the water. Add weight and it will still float but it will sit lower and drift less.

This lure can be stopped & plodded along easily. It has a tendency to bounce in the water. I'd recommend using this to your advantage. It floats easily.

Stopping is difficult in open water as it will float with almost any wind, but is floats very high in the water. After catching a fish you may need to squeeze water out of the body

Depending on the cover and size of fish you are fishing for. In really thick cover i prefer the scum frog and for smaller bass as well.

I've only fished the "spro" once and it was disappointing. That frog sank on just the second cast. I've been fishing Scum Frogs about 6 years now and is still the first frog I reach for when fishing "slop" or weed beds.

I have never used the Spro Bronzeye frog, but have used the Tru Tungsten Mad Maxx. In my opinion, this frog is better as I had more hook ups with this frog than I did with the Mad Maxx.

I haven't tried the Spro but I will be buying one soon. As for the Scum Frog, I can tell you that it produces amazing results. From what I've seen, I'd have to say that they're pretty close. Once, I try the Spro, I will post again here letting you know of the results!

I hope this helps. Fish on!

The Spro frog is a great choice for open water and works well in cover also. The Scum frog is perfect for fishing across grass mats.
