This pole is a telescopic cane pole . No reel mounts on these rods at all, although I have converted a couple of these rods to carry a reel on them . First you buy a line eye kit for this type of rod you can put permanant eyes on at the end of each section or put on sliding eyes bought in kit( especially made for these rods that I bought at BP . Next I taped on a small pflueger 4410c microcast spincast reel( any small spincast reel will work) with black electrical tape. If you are looking for this type of rod (telescpopic crappie rod ) then the Uncle Buck's Deluxe Crappie Pole is really the way to go. These poles are telescopic and have eyes and reel mounts on them already . I have 4 of them and just love them because they aren't in the way like long poles that aren't telescopic. The fact that I love them so much is the reason I changed my telescopic cane like poles to this type of rods. Save yourself the trouble and just get the rods already rigged for reels because they are so much more versatile . Good luck .
