Details:
My trailer has a bracket that extends from the trailer 1 inch or so. The bracket is parallel to the road/ground. It has a 1/2 inch hole that i use normal cinch straps. do i need to buy a kit?Answers

It comes with bolts. You may have to drill holes depending on what kind of boat and trailer you have.

They come with a bolt, which is for attaching to the boat frame. My boat had a bracket that came out to attach the buckle to. If you have this set up, it will only take you a matter of minutes to install. If not, you will need some sort of 1/2 inch hole to bolt the buckel to.

You will need to drill one hole for each ratchet unit. You will probably have to buy the drill bit. It isn't what the average person would have in their standard drill bits set.A:

I have both the stainless and regular ratchet set. The regular will not hold up in salt water applications. It rusted in a years time and had to replace with the stainless. I have had the stainless on my trailer for 2 years now and never had a problem.A:

I have not had any problems. But Mine don't stayed rolled up for a long period of time. Just while I am out fishing, 4 or 5 hours at a time

The stainless steel version should be ok, but the standard ratchet may rust if left in the water long term.Details:
everybody says they lubricate the retractable springs can any one tell me how?Answers

I lift the ratchet handle all the way up and use my grease gun to apply the grease inside the spool and spread it with my finger the best I canA:
I never lubricated mine and they are still working over 8 years.

I have not lubricated mine yet. If you put oil on them, It would attracted dirt, which wouldn't be good. I plan to use a silicone spray when my need lubing. It will dry but still provide some lube.

You can oil them via spray can of WD-40 or other lubricant, but then it attracts dirt. Best to just hose them off.1 of 1
