A:
I fish the square bill in brush, shallow rocks etc. The deep divers I use on rocky points submerged brush piles. River systems I like it around the sand bars and crank it from the shallows into holes, drop offs etc.
Your going to lose some no question so have several for back ups. This is my best go too crank bait.

I had more luck with a stop and go retrieve then just normal cranking if that helps at all. I couldnt tell you if it was the absolute best, but it will catch fish.

I had luck with the bleeding tennesee shad (03) color. It works good in clear water with the sun in the sky since its very reflective, it also has some red spots and red is known to attract bass more then most other colors. In dark water any bright reds or oranges would do some good though. I have one that is red with black stripes going down the sides and i use it after it rains with better luck then the tennesee shad i talked about earlier.

A:
It depends on water clarity and the bait fish the fish are targeting. In muddy water I like the dark colors (blood craw,). In stain water (citrus shad, firetiger and chart black back). I clear water if fish are eating blugills (spooky shad and old glory) If they are eating shad (spooky nasty and nasty shad) I don't believe one color can get bit all the time.
