You take a tape measure start at 1inch & bend the tape measure until it complete the oval & that gives you the size. Now the weight on the other hand. Is get a scale & rest the cork on it, & theirs your easy way telling the weight to.

Get a digital scale, that you use for baking cookies & breads & things. Set it to ounces.& theirs the weight of the cork without being unsure. Hope this helps

The size of the oval is about 1/8" of an inch. Made of durable rubber. I use it as a bobber stop to stop 3" bobbers.

These floats do not come with the little plastic plug in the top. How do you keep the line from sliding up and down on these floats.

A:
you have to buy bobber stops, little red plastic slips with 3 holes in them. You thread your line through each hole there=by cresating a tight slip, so bobber won't slip into the hole of the bobber and get some beads from a craft and hobby house.

A:
You need a stop. Sinker Stops are used to stop the float at a desired water depth. To prevent the line from sliding through the float add the Sinker Stop first and then add a small bead to prevent the float from sliding through the float.

The Sinker Stop goes on the line first. Next is a small bead to prevent the bobber from sliding over the Sinker Stop. Next is the bobber. Add a sliding egg sinker. Next a plastic bead to help cushion the knot from the weight of the sinker. I tie my leader to the swivel. Set the Sinker Stop to the depth you want to fish and you are ready to go.

That depends what you are fishing for. For catfish high visible 3" floats work well with 1oz.weights. For Crappie smaller floats and smaller weights work well.

Either by how much weight you put under the bobber or by what size fish you are trying to catch. I hope this helped. Good fishing!
