Thread line through guides from the tip of the rod to the reel. Put line through the level wind & under bottom of reel spool out the back of the reel. Hold end of line, pull line from behind levelwind over spool. Tie snug overhand knot around that line to make loop around reel spool. Gently pull line from supply spool to slide knot to reel spool. Hold line between fingers and reel onto spool under light tension until 1/8" below spool flange edge. Line needs to come off top of rotating supply spool. Best way is to have your wife or whatever hold line spool with a pencil through the hole in middle of line spool.

First, remove the old line and thread the new line through the rod guides. Tie the new line to the spool on the reel. At this point, put the pencil or reel filling station into the new spool if you have either one. Another good alternative is to have a friend hold the spool adding a little tension while installing the new line.Next, crank the bait caster to loop the line around the reel's spool until it is filled to a quarter of an inch from the outer rim. Make sure the line feeds from the top of the supply spool in order to prevent the line from being twisted. Feel free to use a significant amount of pressure while filling the reel. Twists and tangles, which can later foul the line, are easily avoided by winding the line tightly. If the line looks loopy or tangled, more pressure is needed.

Knob on right side of reel is spool tension adjustment. It helps stop the spool at end of cast. Start by tying on what you want to cast. Tighten knob a few turns. Hold rod out straight, push spool release. Loosen knob till lure slowly falls to floor. Spool should stop when lure stops. Start there and practice casting. Less tension on spool = longer casts.

The dial on the left side plate is the magnetic braking system.The knob located on the handle side under the start drag is the cast control knob, which its purpose is to apply continuous frictions to the end of the spool shaft, assistance the centrifugal brake system in maintaining the correct spool speed to prevent backlashes.

push up the black button on the magnet control button side, and twist the front of the sideplate down(the one with the BPS logo)at the same time.its a little tricky the first time.

first, you need a quality oil and grease. i suggest KVD's hot sauce. if the handle is on the right, then hold the handle side in your right hand, and with your left hand, press down the black trigger on the right hand side, the magnet side, and while thats pressed down, twist the entire plate counter clockwise. then remove the spool. this will get you into the beginning of the process.Answers

push it up and twist the sideplate front down and it will release the sideplate.

you press that in and twist that entire side plate counter clockwise to get the side plate and magnets off, letting you take out the spool and disassemble the reel.Details:

Yes, in fact, I have the same reel and I think you realized that the rod sucks so pretty soon I am going to get a new reel. I am thinking about getting a Vendetta instead of the ones you said. I have had experience with Daiwa once and I have to say their products are cheap.

I would use Original Stren 14 pound mono clear blue. The line is very work able and it casts great with hardly any backlash.
