If you wear a size 8 shoe, you wear a size 8 wader boot-- they take into consideration the bulk from the waders. That being said, I'd stil recommend trying them on in the store with your waders (if at all possible) to get the best fit.

I bought these boots in a women's 8 and I wear 7 to 7 1/2.

I think the boot takes into consideration the space to be occupied by the neoprene of your stockingfoot waders.

So, yes, the boot is somewhat larger than a normal hiking boot of the same size. These boots are only whole sizes - too bad, I wish they made them in half sizes. If you're a whole size in your normal shoe, I'd say try the same size in this wading boot. But if you're a half size, go up to the next whole size.

(Sometimes, I needed boots to use quickly and have ordered one size and the next bigger size, then returned the one that doesn't fit. In this case, I just ordered an 8 and it's OK.)
