Both are good reels, you can't go wrong with either one. While in the store, try each on the type rod you intend to mount it on and see which one feels the best.

I have the President and my tournament partner has the JM Sig. It's probably just him, but he has trouble with backlashing all day long with his sig. I may backlash once or twice a day.

There is a thumb screw on the right side of the reel. Loosen this screw and turn the left side plate 1/4 turn and it comes right off

Musky Fishing

Details:
My husband and I both use spinning u use on our rods when we fish. I would like to know if spinning reels can be used to Musky fish with or does it definately have to be a baitcaster reel. My is the Shimano Sedonna spinning reel and my husband is the Daiwai Spinning reel.

A:
Spinning reels for musky are fine as long as they have the capability of handling heavy enough mono or braid and are pared with a rod with enough backbone. If you are to be casting large plugs for musky the baitcasting reels will perform better since they will not work you as hard as using spinning reels for this purpose.

Plueger is not making many reels in the left hand model. I do not know why, but it is what it is.

Pflueger makes a left hand President LP reel, but we do not carry that reel at this time. These two reels are right-hand models.
