I use the shad colors or watermelon white when fished as a swimbait, and i use whatever color matches the skirt when used as a swimjig chatterbait trailer
If you get the 3.5", which I recommend, the Gamakatsu 1/16th, 3/0 size hook fits like it was made for it. If you get the 4.5", the 5/0 size works well.
Buy em! I rig it on the 1/4 oz scrounger head the most. But if your in grass use the lake fork hooks. The 3.5 uses a 3/0 the 4.5 uses a 5/0 the 5.5 uses a 7/0 and the giant 8 uses a 10/0. Hope this helps
Hi,, I use the owner twist lock swimbait hooks in 3/0 and an eight of an oz weight. These are for the 3.5" and for the 4.5" use the 4/0 size hook. you cant fish these wrong.. Use bait casting or spinning.
It depends on which size bait you are talking about and what species you are targeting. I use 3/0 or 5/0 weighted swimbait hooks, mostly 5/0 because I fish primarily for largemouth... and as their name implies they can easily take a 5/0 wide gap hook. If you want to fish for multiple species, use the 3/0.
yo i am from baltimore md too i fish places like daniels dam of the patapsaco but anyway you can rig it whichever way you like if you read the bait description it tells you how
check out some picks of what ive got around baltimore

Daniels Dam of patapsaco river...try fishing smallmouth here with an ultralight rod and a small minnow like imitation hard bait
The Gamakatsu swimbait hooks fit these just perfectly. I only use the 3.5" with the 3/0, and the 4.5" with the 5/0 hook. The lighter the weight, the better, as it gives it time to fall.
They don't in the package. But a swimbait hook that has a bottom mounted weight is the absolute BEST to use with this lure. The Gamakatsu swim bait hooks are the best to use with this lure. Just pick your size.
No, you will need to get the Gamakatsu swimbait hooks to go with them. Size and weight depend upon the bait size. 3.5" go best with the 3/0, 1/16th oz., while the 4.5" go great with the 5/0.
You can buy them already rigged in single packs, but it comes with what is basically a large jig head hook. They seem to perform a little better with weighted swimbait hooks.
certain ones do. ive bought packs of 1 before they come pre rigged, or you can buy a pack of five shads, and go to the hook section and lake fork made a hook weighted at the bottom of the hook made just for the magic shad.
