The Ice Master Ice Auger Converter Kit is an affordable two-piece conversion kit that quickly turns your power drill and hand auger into a power auger capable of drilling up to 35 holes on one charge using a 19 volt battery in the drill. This dependable conversion kit consists of Ice Master's exclusive retainer disk and adapting pin, drill and auger are not included. The retainer is designed to protect the auger from going to the bottom should your auger disengage from the drill chuck. The retainer also works to take the weight of the auger off the chuck by putting the weight on the handle and protecting the chuck from damages. Made to fit 1/2'' and larger drills, this Conversion Kit works on 4'', 5'', 6'', 7'' and 8'' adjustable pin and threaded type augers too.

do you need a specific auger with this product? and if not which do you recommened?

Nope, you juse need the style of hand crank that has the through-bold wingnut to attach the handle. These work best on 6" and smaller hand crank augers and you'll want an 18V or more cordless drill, ideally with the lithium ion batteries....a regular old lead acid 12v wont' get you very far. The higher the quality of the hand crank auger, the longer the battery will last. Dull blades are no good!
