Instead of tent stakes, using five gallon buckets with sand as anchors, I'm wondering if I can find out about wind strength, or some kind of rating?

A:
Mine survived tornado speed, straight downline winds without even flinching. However, it was staked down. I do not believe the feet on this canopy are large enough to allow any other type of anchoring.....only stakes. See if you can get 18" or 24" stakes from some hardware store and use those in the sand.

A:
I would think if you can anchor not only the legs but the tie outs you'd be fine.

I properly installed it while camping and it withstood a thunderstorm one night and another severe thunderstorm (tornado happened a few miles away) with gusts of at least 30MPH possibly 40. No damage or anything.
