I don't think it would fit a heavy individual comfortably. The pockets and flotation collar are around the mid-section. I think that would perhaps be bulky and in the way.

If I remember correctly, that is the maximum weight for this item. Don't forget to add the weight of your clothing and the things in your pockets or on your person when choosing a flotation device.

I love my mesh vests and they will work fine for wading but you may want a vest with more pockets, but hard to beat for the money.

It means that the floatation devise will not turn you face up and hold your head out of the water. If you go into the water unconscious you may still drown.

if you're knocked unconscious you'd need one of those super bulky wrap around your neck life jackets to guarantee your face stays out of the water...this life jacket doesn't do that necessarily

A:
floatling head up means that your head will position upright and out of the water when you hit the water. Which is nessary if you get nocked out when you hit the water.Usually it place you on your back in a slightly angle postion.

means when some one wears this life vest and is in the water a person's head is not held up out of the water , so say they are knocked out , even though they are being held up out in the water they would drown cause they are held up fine but rolled over and there face is down into the water

Picture the big orange life jackets with a big collar around the neck. That type of jacket will float your head up if you are knocked unconscious when the boat crashes. This mesh jacket has no flotation around the collar, therefore, it don't float your head up. I have one of these and love it for the confort.
