This Scotty Anchor lock looks good but what is the max weight of the boat that it can handle ? I know you get what you pay for but I have a Lowe FM 175 fishing boat which weights around 1200 pounds, could this Anchor lock handle that weight with out breaking off at the neck ?

A:
I use a 16 lb anchor fore and aft on my 14 ft Treacker. It is about the same weight as your boat (1300 lb) and I have had no problems. If you go to the Scotty web site they will give you a max weight that they will work with. I think that I am about at the max now. I hope this helps you out.

If you have a place to bolt it down I don't see why not. You can also get a flush mount that it will work with.

A:
Just mounted the system at the bow of my canoe and I'm pretty confident it could be used on a kayak as well.
