its both you can switch the handle around and bam a right hand retrive or left hand retrive.

I have seen alot of womens fishing combos come with thin guides. I really like the fuji guides. Also, what size lures can you use with this pole?

the guides are not thin at all my sister use a 6 zo weigh/ and she use any size lures she use from 6" to 12" this rod is heavy duty made
