will work like a champ, there are nicer ones but more money, so ask yourself how often do you need it, you do get what you pay for, there is a better model but twice the price, but they are more forgiving if the boat is not on the trailer straight it will have more give..bottom line this will work...

Check with manafacturer..they make different lengths and shapes. There is also an attachment which fits on the trailer side of the bar which fits around the rear roller for easy on and off.

A:
the v shape has 4 rubber cups that hold the motor lower unit. These cups are pop-riveted to the unit and will pop off easily if the motor clips them on the way down. The other end is a u-shaped bracket that fits over the rear roller on the trailer

Its a rubberised plastic I believe. Not sure what you mean by "the bottom"...if you mean the end of the bar nearest the trailer, there is a "u" shaped attachment which fits over the rear roller for easy on and off.
