This reel has a 17 lb drag. The strongest of any bait cast reel I know. I do believe it is designed for freshwater fishing so I would say your best bet is to call the factory for information.

A:
Buy a BPS Prolite Special bait cast reel and a spool of 10# Excel clear blue line. Will handle down to about 3/16 bass jig pretty well. Don't worry about fish seeing the line. You're better off being able to see bites.

This will work well with 50 lbs braid just remember to check the line for digging in after u set the on somthing. Line tends to digg in if spool has loose line on it.

No not at all Browning Midas has has a much smaller profile that easy to palm. The nitro is much larger and built to hold more and heavier fishing line. Midas will also cast smaller lures.

The “V” spool allows for a higher line capacity and allows line to lay flatter on the spool during quick retrieves. Thank you!

I grew up in Florida and have since moved back..old rule of thumb is after you use equipment in saltwater rince it off in fresh water and dry off..maintain normal maintenance and reels will last as long as mine have these last 6 plus years

yes it would be fine for saltwater. most reels wont have problems with saltwater if u clean them thouroughly afterwards. MAKE SURE U CLEAN IT and there will be no problems.
