Lure weight in this instance helps to determine the overall size of the jig head. For a slower fall you would need a smaller weight, while faster falls require heavier jigs. This is especially useful when jigging vertically or when trying to get the bait to very deep portions of the body of water you are fishing quickly.

if your lure isnt very heavy you could tie on a little weight for more distances in casting. Also when your fishing the bottom of the water, the current can move the weights around so it matters how much current as well.

I belive it means it is weedless.

I dont know what it means but it is weedless by incorporating a nylon weed guard in front of the hook. I will admit, it is not entirly (weedless) but it is good if you are working in light vertical weeds.Tight Lines
