So, the item works with a 5HP outboard motor. Therefore, if we convert it takes one horsepower to approximately equal to 15 pounds of thrust. Look for Approx 75 lbs thrust trolling motor. I hope this helps. Thanks!

The 48" beam width should help to make the boat fairly stable and the design of the boat lends it much to the same way a SOT kayak is. However, always be sure to wear a life preserver as accidents may happen at any time in any boat.

Yes, two people can fish comfortably. I share the second seat with my wife. In the middle of the 9' Pond Prowler, I built a small bench to hold my tackle box and 5 rod holders that store my poles vertically. There's plenty of room for a small cooler, net, extra clothing, utility box, and the oar.

It has two on the front and two on the back. Be careful how much tension you put on the rope or chain to winch the boat up. The eyelets can separate.

boat comparisons

Details:
I already own a small pond boat simular to the small pontoon style, but I need to replace it. 15 years old and now leaks because of sun rot. My question is this. I am looking at the uncle buck's version of the 9 ft. pond boat and also at the pontoon version at the same time, since they are both priced at nearly the same, and wonder which of the two boats is faster with the same trolling motor, be it 30lb thrust, or otherwise? I am almost persuaded to buy the uncle bucks version over the other style because it has storage compartments which the pontoon design doesn't have.
