A:
just spray it on your line the day before you go fishing. If you forget to put it on the night before at least let it sit for an hour.

Spray it on your spool, then wait a few seconds for it to get down into the line. Next, cast a few times to sling the excess off. Finally, wipe down your reel's frame and handles as well as your rod's handle to keep from losing your grip on them. At the end of the day, I give each reel a little shot of Line Butter before I pull the cover over it and store it for next time, but I wouldn't recommend that unless you use reel covers, because this stuff is pretty oily, which will attract dust if left in the open.

I haven't tried it that way, and don't know that I'd recommend it. If you need to juice a lure for some reason, spray a little fish attractant on it. That will usually reanimate a skirt or do whatever else you need it to.

It is rather oily upon the initial application, but I haven't experienced any type of residue after use. I haven't tried the KVD line conditioner, but I strongly prefer Line Butter to Real Magic. Besides not leaving any residue, Line Butter simply works better.

I cannot answer how it compares, but as for residue, I can't say I've had any. Even when it gets onto my reel when I spray it, a quick wipe off and it's clean as before. You can't tell the difference between this and the water when you feather the spool either. Invest in it, you'll love it.
