I use this PFD in my kayak. It allows full range of motion for paddling. It doesn't ride up.

My vest is an XL. I couldn't find a Max. wt. listed but it did have a minimum of 90 Lbs. If one uses the leg straps, which is a feature on racing vests, you can't come out of it. The vest has been tested at 50 or 55 MPH.
