Do you need to adjust for each new distance? Or do you just leave the pin where it is and aim higher or lower depending on the shot?

A:
The XR2 isnt a single pin sight. Its a combination single pin and multi pin sight. Basically you use the top pin which will remain stationairy as your 20 yard pin. Then set your moving pin for 30,40,50 +.

The best way to set this sight is to move th floating pin all the way up and then tune it to shoot 30 yards by moving the entire sight. Once that is set, you will bring the stationary pin up or down to make your 20 yard pin. Now with the floating pin all the way up, you will have 2 pins (20 & 30 yards) which will take care of 80% of your hunting needs. There is a dial in the side that as you spin it the floating pin will lower. Once you set your 40 you will mark the dial. This goes for your 50,60 and even 70 if you have enough adjustment.

A:
generally a single pin setup is on a sliding set up with a yardage tape. You set it for the desired distance and hold dead on. However this particular sight has one pin that is fixed and is sighted in for a fixed distance and one adjustable pin for random distances.
