Not sure how long they'd last because there pretty new. But treat them like anything you care about and they should be good for awhile.

I've used some that were well over a year old, they don't get as hot as brand new ones, but they do take the chill off.

I like to keep them in either my jacket pocket or my pants pockets. They even have gloves now that have pockets for them to go in.

Personal taste. You can put them in your pockets if you like to fish barehanded. If you fish Cod in the winter, or for tailgating during very cold weather you can put one in each glove.

After many years of using them I recommend getting the mitts that have the flaps that fold back and expose your fingers. The pocket/mitt part makes a great holder for the packs

Side of bag states " This product is used by professional athletes, outdoor sportsmen, spectators, skiers, construction workers and by those who want safe, convenient concentrated warmth. Up to 10 hours of safe comfortable warmth. # 1 on the bad stated Careful supervision is required for use with the elderly, infants, children, people with sensitive skin, and those who can't feel heat. Keep out of reach of children. Does state do not use while sleeping. My daughter is 12 and her friend of 12 years took a set to an event that was in the cold and had no problems with it, but of course her parents were with her too. I guess instructions from the parents are needed and, what are the capabilities of each child. Hate to say common sense is necessary, but there are many, sadly who lack that trait because they are not at that stage in development yet. Try it out, especially if you are going to be there. Good luck with the decision.

I have no problem letting my 12 year old use them for skiing or when we are outside in the cold. It will help them stay out longer.I don't believe they are made out of anything toxic. Its iron and some other mineral that reacts with air and generates heat.

Think yes..., no extreme heat. The only thing would be opening the warmer and "eating" that stuff, a problem for a 4 years old boy, not for a 12 years old (I think).

Absolutely safe. Assume they won't try to eat the ingredients! Only potential problem is that they will burn if you put them directly on your skin.
