Nothing gets predator fish to the surface faster than STORM's commotion-creating Rattlin' Chug Bug. The productive, do-everything topwater Rattlin' Chug Bug pops, spits and chugs like a fleeing baitfish with every rod twitch. On slow days when the Rattlin' Chug Bug's water-disturbing action doesn't grab their attention, its super loud rattle will bring 'em up. Sporting brilliant, lifelike finishes, the Rattlin' Chug Bug's seductive teaser tail hook adds extra appeal and increases weight for extra long casts.

I like topwater lures with and without rattles. Some fisherman say they scare the fish, not me. Majority of the time I fish topwater with a rattle usually good results.
This depends on the mood of the fish. Many times, the extra rattle can be an attractant for fish that may be in a neutral or negative mood, however, sometimes fish will respond better to a "silent" hard bait. The best choice would be to have a variety of baits, and allow the fish to decide which that they like best.
I would say that the Chug Bug is more effective overall, but each has the ability to catch fish. Here is a limit of fish I caught on the chug bug at Toledo Bend, La on a 3x5 table.
to me its better where i fish but some may be in the ability of the user. And how the fish react stop or pause from time to time and speed up. Have used 3 different poppers at same time but constant action on chugger
Chugbugs are the best topwater bait on the market today... I like the perch color the best . It's a bigger bait that you can pop softly or pop hard depending on the mood of the fish. And it can also be used in a walk the dog motion that you really can't do with a skitter pop because of it's smaller size. Most of my bigger fish came from using a chugbug..
I have been useing the chug bug since i was 5 so i may be a little biased but i have caught a lot of trophy fish on the chug bug . I have also fished the skitter pop and i wasn't impressed with its spitting action. With the chug bug you can pop it ,spit it, twitch it, and walk it its a good all around bait.
it depends on the water color or what time of day you use it. I use more of the natural colors because it is good in almost any condition and water type, but the more flashy one could be used in darker or stained water.
I was wondering if the hooks get tangled up when both are turned to the middle of the lure. It's happened to me on some other poppers while fishing and has cost me countless fish.
Tennessee Shad the absolute best... they stopped making the other best for some reason..Blue Shad A great lure, my favorite beside the Spro Frog for topwater, and be careful...those hooks can be dangerous Good Luck!
I DON' T FISH STAINED WATER MUCH BUT IF I DID I'D CHOOSE THE PERCH COLOR FIRST OR THE BLACK & BLOOD RED GILLS . THE MAIN THING IS DON'T BE AFRAID TO POP IT GOOD TO LET THEM KNOW IT'S THERE..
Marketing calls it the "Chug Bug® MadFlash". It is a 4 3/8 " - 7/8 oz. bait. This size is also available in the standard STORM® Chug Bug but for some reason not in the Rattlin' Chug Bug.
Not sure about a Magnum size. Then biggest i have seen or used is the 3-3/4" but the also make a saltwater series in new colors just replace the hooks with fresh water hooks
