  • Specifically designed for flippin' and pitchin'
  • Innovative design minimizes line friction
  • Perma-lock Drag System set at 28 lbs.
  • Aluminum alloy frame and covers
  • 5 stainless steel ball bearings and stainless steel anti-reverse clutch bearing
  • Ultra-strong stainless steel handle

Packed with features designed to deliver under the toughest conditions, the Ardent F500 Flip-N-Pitch Baitcast Reel is specifically designed for effortless flippin' and pitching. Thanks to the downward sloping front, extra-large line opening, lack of level wind, a wear-resistant ceramic line eye and narrow spool, line friction is minimized so line spools off the F500 Flip-N-Pitch Reel like silk, making flippin' and pitchin' easier, more accurate and more rewarding. The F500 Flip-N-Pitch's Perma-lock Drag System is factory-set at 28 pounds, making it easy for anglers flipping and pitching heavy-cover to turn a lunker's head immediately after hook-up, and then keep the fish moving towards the boat. The aluminum alloy frame and covers provide lightweight toughness, while protecting the F500's five stainless steel ball bearings and stainless steel anti-reverse clutch bearing. The F500 Flip-N-Pitch's stainless steel handle can manage more stress, force and pressure than standard aluminum handles found on other reels. In short, with the Ardent F500 Flip-N-Pitch Reel, you get a reel that's easy to use, and hard to break.

A:
if you are new to baitcast reels then i would recommend staying with a standard reel before you put the money into a technique reel like this, try flipping with a traditional baitcaster out on the water to make sure it's a technique you would use too. when it comes to backlashes, i have a feeling you would need to get used to thumbing both the line and the spool at once.
