I have two Moultrie CDC game cameras purchased in 2008. I currently have a solar charger for each. They use 6v, 5Ah rechargable batteries. Will this panel work??? The ad says, "for all 2007 and later cameras."
Thanks!

It is a little smaller than the camera. I have had it out in the woods without batteries and have 100s of prics everytime I check it. I usually check it every three days. Never have had a power issue.

Yes! I have it on my 55IR and there is no other power source for it. I have had pics all through the night with it. I also have one on my Stealthcam as well.

The panel works great with this camera. I have had a camera in use for 4 weeks taken over 1500 pictures and batteries and panel are still 100%.

I dont know about the Stealth Cam Sniper. I am using the Stealth Cam Rogue and have had no issues with the solar panel. I spoke with Stealth cam about this and all they would say is it will void your warranty. My cam has stayed out in the field for right at a year and I have only changed the batteries out 1 time in that span. The only thing I will tell you about the panel is it needs a lot of sun exposure. I have mine facing south in an open field and cam is facing my feeder. Again I have had no issues with the panel affecting my cam.

I've read the online manual and it doesn't say anything about what you do about batteries in you camera.

I have a power panel in my stealthcam and moultrie. I had to put batteries in the stealthcam to get the power panel to work. I know the batteries are dead but for some reason the batteries had to be in the cam to get the panel to work. As for the moultrie IR 55 I have never put a battery in it and the panel works just fine. I have that cam in the woods and the trees do not seem to bother the power panel at all.

A:
You need to have batteries in your camera in case you have a period of bad weather and the panel loses it charge. The batteries can be regular or rechargable. The panel does not charge batteries.

I was told this charger will power my Moultrie - I60 but batteries should be installed in camera to supplement charger in case of insufficient sun light to provide full power. As far as batteries he said it did not matter what type you use.

You do have to have the batteries in the camera i believe it says it briefly in the install directions but it doesn't say if you do or don't need rechargeables.

Stealthcam will tell you it will void the warrwanty. I will tell you yes it will assist your 540. I have not tried it without batteries. I have had the cam out a year and have replaced the batterries3 times in that time frame.
