A:
I have the Barnett Penetrator, I knew the cranking device worked on the Quad 400 which I was there to buy, however they did not have a Quad 400 in stock, so thats how i ended up with the Penetrator. The salesman in the Archary Dept. looked up and found that the cranking devise worked with my model. However bass Pro did not have the cranking devise in stock. So i purchased the crossbow and when I got home called Bass Pro and ordered it on line, there were 2 models of cranking devises. My model was not listed as being compatiable. The lady taking the order lookup and comfirmed which model I needed for my crossbow. SO, call Bass Pro or Barnett and they can easely answer your question and get you the right crank.

A:
I have a barnett penetrator Crossbow, I installed thier cranking device. While you can use the crank to cock the crossbow, they donot recommend using the cranking device to decock the bow. They recommend shooting an old arrow into the ground. I bring a target and shoot an old arrow to uncock the device. Never DRY FIRE THE CROSSBOW!! Also they also recommend only having it cocked no longer than 4 hours, then 30 mins of rest for the bow between recranking.. Hope this helps.

A:
you have to fire your crossbow with an arrow to uncock always, no other way to uncock your crossbow otherwise. Best to use an old arrow and a target, never shoot it into the ground if at all possible.
