Not noisy enough to scare the deer away. I had 2 Bucks stand around after i missed on the first shot and reloaded. Then after i shot the second time the buck i didn't shoot stayed around till i got out of the tree.
Like any crossbow it will make some noise. I like to compare it to opening up a can of soda when talking about the noise. The Barnett Ghost just came out and it is much quieter than this model.
I do not hunt but have shot my friend's crossbow before. I am interested in buying a crossbow for hobby/recreational purposes such as shooting a targets. Which crossbow would you recommend for this purpose? I have been looking at a few Barnett Crossbow, the Wildcat C5 in particular.
I opened the package the sales rep gave me and installed the broadheads, only to find out they were a little longer. Any issues with this? I presume the sales person did so, so I could have the broadhead extend beyond the bow a little?
Hey Vinny, the 22 in bolts are actually better, the longet they are the truer they will fly,and the Cat C5 has plenty of power for 22's. Good luck dropping a deer bro !!
Yes, but with EVERY change in either Length of BOLT or WEIIGHT of Broadhead, you must re-zero your sights. I failed to re-site in after changing to an Easton Shaft with a broadhead that came with the Bow and was 16" high at 30 yards. AND I missed a nice Hog due to it.
Say homey 125 grain is the recommended but you can go with 100's or 125's or I even have sum 140's. So its all good/ By the way what are you hunting up your way. I mean I could come up for a world class whitetail hunt in Ontario.
Best to use the 20in. bolts from Barnett They have been tested an preform great-also use 125 grain points which also comes with bolts an use broadheads of same grain for hunting.
Yes the rope cocking device for $19.95 makes cocking very easy. I reccomend you order one today. Ive got 2 you know one for a backup..... Hope you drop a good buck bro !
