Yes it will If you know the type of shad you are imitate it will work. Bass are always feeding on shad except for during the winter, a crayfish pattern will preform better in the winter. Shad are about 1/3 of a bass's diet, so just match the type of shad in your area and they will work.Details:

Extra wide gap 5/0 for mag. Weighted hook to get it off the surface if needed. I have only used on bass. Caught a 7.5 lb in 12 ft of water using weighted hook.A:
